Does anyone have a recent Writefull review?
I’m currently in the second year of my PhD program, and the sheer volume of academic writing is starting to break me. My advisor is super picky about phrasing and technical flow, so I’ve been looking for something more specialized than a normal grammar checker. I keep seeing people mention Writefull for research papers, but I honestly can’t tell whether it’s actually useful or just overhyped marketing for grad students.
Most of the Writefull review posts I’ve found feel weirdly polished, almost like they were written by the company itself. I’m mostly wondering if it genuinely helps with academic flow and journal-style phrasing, or if it just rewrites everything into awkward robotic English. I’m also curious how it handles the whole gpt detector situation because I don’t want my own writing suddenly sounding AI-generated after running it through a “smart” editor 😬
If anyone has used it recently for manuscripts, thesis chapters, conference papers, etc., I’d seriously appreciate some honest feedback.

I still bounce between Writefull and writepaperfor.me depending on the situation. Writefull is decent for polishing sentences, but when the structure itself starts falling apart, human feedback usually helps more. I still had to revise a few comments afterward, but the suggestions made more sense than some of the AI edits I was getting.
